Pilates is known as a very effective way of preventing and managing low back pain. Medical authorities are increasingly recognising that adapted exercise on a one-to-one or small group basis is one of the best ways of helping someone with ongoing low back pain. This is underlined in the most recent guidelines published by NICE, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, and is exactly why we created our unique Back4Good programme more than 10 years ago.
We offer specialist additional training and certification to Body Control Pilates teachers, enabling them to qualify as a Back4Good Practitioner. This ensures that they have the necessary knowledge and skills to use adapted exercises to work safely and effectively with clients in this important area.
The training course they have graduated from is endorsed by three independent medical experts in the field of low back pain as meeting best practice. This is why they are also recognised and listed as a BackCare Professional by BackCare, the UK charity for healthier backs.
You therefore know that you will be in safe hands when you get in contact with one of our Back4Good Practitioners. Find your nearest teacher by using our ‘Find a Teacher‘ listing by ticking the ‘Low Back Pain’ search filter and entering your town or postcode. They will offer a range of Healthy Back 1:1 private sessions and small group classes that will help you to take control of your low back pain. Our enrolment process will also ensure that, if classes are not felt to be right for you at this stage, you can be referred to a medical specialist.
